3 TIPS ON PHOTOGRAPHING KIDS & BABIES

Good Day to all. 1. One of the most satisfying subjects to shoot in photography are children and babies. Kids are very innocent so the expressions & emotion on their faces are genuine. Do you feel that sometimes you are not happy with the children & baby photo that you have taken? Somehow it doesn't look right... 2. Well, here are 3 simple tips that you can implement to make your kids & baby photos look better. Don't worry if you do not have a DSLR camera, as these tips can also be used when shooting with your phone camera.

3. Tip #1 - GET LOW

Your photos will always come out better when we shoot at eye level. However we often forget or get lazy. We forget that the children's eye level is lower than ours. So we always shoot standing up. Try to bring the camera to their eye level. If you need to kneel, squat or get even lower, it is worth doing it.

Ensure your camera is at their level.

Even when they are lying down

4. Tip #2 - WAIT FOR THE FACIAL EXPRESSION

Your photos will look better if you see an expression on the children's faces. Children are mostly happy and playful. It pays for you to set your focus and composition and wait for a few seconds. The right moment will come. It can either be a smile, a laugh or a scream. Just make sure you are ready for it.

Babies do smile, just be patient.

5. Tip #3 - USE HIGHER SHUTTER SPEED

Kids are always in motion. They are hyper energetic & they move faster than us. To make sure your photos stay sharp, it is advisable to use a higher shutter speed. Their heads can turn in a second & the eyes will not be sharp.

Babies are always moving around, higher shutter speed will freeze the motion.

Split second reaction, as the tongue comes out for only a few seconds

6. Try out these tips & your children photos will look better, always. You are free to feedback if it works or not. Good luck.
